Sessions Cannabis Extract is an Oregon extract company. Their whole line is built around full-spectrum oil: they don't use distillate, they don't add cutting agents, and the terpenes come from cannabis, matched to the strain. Getting the most out of it
- Ask us about the two sides. Tell us how you like to feel, and we'll walk you through both strains in the pairing and which side is which.
- Go slow on the first pull. Full-spectrum oil hits differently than distillate. Take one pull, wait a few minutes, then decide.
- Store it upright and out of the heat. Don't leave it in a hot car. That's good advice for any oil pen.

Chem Dosi by Flyte Co: A Living-Soil Strain Review from Our Counter
Chem Dosi — Flyte Co Strain Spotlight
Reviewed at the counter, 607 Hwy 99 N, West Eugene
Some jars we have to talk people into. Chem Dosi was the other kind — the jar our budtenders started reaching for before the customer finished describing what they wanted. It ran on our $13-per-gram tier, moved fast the whole time it was on the wall, and it earned this write-up the honest way: repeat customers coming back in asking for it by name.
The name tells you most of the story. Chem Dosi reads like Chemdawg-family fuel stacked on Do-Si-Dos dessert genetics, and the nose backs that up — sharp gas and rubber funk when you crack the jar, with a sweet, doughy finish sitting underneath that keeps it from being all sting. The cure on Flyte’s run was dialed: dense, frosty nugs with that slight sponge you get from a slow hang-dry, not the crumble of flower that got rushed to shelf.
On the smoke, it leans indica without knocking you flat at the first bowl. Our take from the counter: a heavy-shouldered evening hybrid — the kind of relaxed that creeps in over twenty minutes rather than hitting like a wave. Customers most often described it as a wind-down strain for the end of the day. Everyone’s different, so start low and see where it takes you.

Who Is Flyte Co?
Micro-tier craft garden, Bend, Oregon
Flyte Co is exactly the kind of garden our buyer looks for: a true mom-and-pop micro-tier operation out of Bend, run by Brendan and Julie with garden specialist Wes. The license is young — founded in 2023 — but the grower behind it brings more than fifteen years of cultivation experience from the traditional and medical markets, and it shows in the jar.
Everything runs through organic living soil in 3-gallon pots, fed with dry amendments and house-brewed compost teas. Pest management is OMRI-certified sprays only, used almost entirely in veg — nothing sketchy near a flowering plant. Harvests hang whole-plant for 14 to 16 days in a controlled room before a full hand-trim. That slow finish is why their flower smokes smooth instead of green.
Chem Dosi is one of several Flyte cuts that have come across our counter — their Grape Gas and Swamp Water Fumez runs both sold through fast, and the farm is known around Oregon for cuts like Zikigai, Apple Fumez, and Grape Snowcone. Junction City Scandinavian Festival 2026: A Local’s Guide
90,000 visitors, four Nordic countries, and the best aebleskiver line-dodging tip in Lane County - your 2026 festival guide, plus the 21+ detour on Hwy 99.
Every August, Junction City — a town of about 6,000 people fifteen minutes up Hwy 99 from our counter — somehow hosts more than 90,000 visitors in four days. The Junction City Scandinavian Festival turns the whole downtown into a Nordic village: folk dancers, three stages of music, Viking-era craft demonstrations, and food lines that are worth every minute (we'll tell you which line to skip, though). In 2026 the festival hits its 65th year, and if you've never been, this is the year to fix that.
We've been serving festival traffic heading up and down Hwy 99 since 2014, so consider this our local's guide — everything you need to plan the day, plus the honest logistics stuff the brochures skip.
Scandinavian Festival 2026 — Fast Facts
Hours: 10 AM – 9 PM Thursday through Saturday · 10 AM – 8 PM Sunday. Evening entertainment runs late with the pageant and community dance.
Where: The festival takes over downtown Junction City, centered on the Windmill information booth at 6th & Greenwood — that's also the lost & found if you misplace something (or someone).
Four Days, Four Countries
Each festival day honors one Scandinavian country, and the order rotates every year. For 2026 it runs Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark — so costumes, music, and some of the food specials shift day by day. Locals have opinions about which day is best. We stay neutral; the aebleskiver doesn't change nationality.
The Food (and the Line-Dodging Tip)
The festival's real headliners are edible. The classics to hunt down: aebleskiver (puffy Danish pancake balls with jam and powdered sugar), lefse (warm potato flatbread with butter and cinnamon sugar), Swedish meatballs with lingonberries, rømmegrøt (a buttery sour-cream porridge that sounds odd and eats like dessert), and lingonberry lemonade to wash it down. The adventurous can find lutefisk. The rest of us respect it from a distance.
The tip regulars know: the main aebleskiver booth runs a long line all weekend — but there's a second aebleskiver booth at the south end of the festival that usually has little to no wait. Same pancake balls, none of the standing.
Parking & Logistics
Street parking is free anywhere on open streets outside the festival barriers — first come, first served, and it tightens up fast on Saturday. If you'd rather not circle, the Bi-Mart lot in Junction City runs paid parking (usually under $10 for the full day, come-and-go allowed, and proceeds benefit local Girl Scout troops).
Two things worth knowing before you load the car: pets aren't allowed on festival grounds (Oregon Health Authority food-cart rules — service animals are of course fine), and there are real flushing bathrooms in the building south of the Festival Park Stage, plus portable toilets in most alleyways.
Getting There from Eugene
Easiest festival commute in the county: take Hwy 99 north out of West Eugene and it runs straight into Junction City — about 15 minutes door to door. Our shop sits right on that route at 607 Hwy 99 N, which is why every August our budtenders end up giving as many festival directions as product recommendations.
The 21+ Detour on Your Festival Route
If you're 21+, the smart play is a quick stop on your way home: we're directly on the Eugene–Junction City route, and we're open until 9 PM every day of the festival. Grab a hand-rolled pre-roll (from $3) or edibles for a mellow landing after a day of accordion music and powdered sugar — then enjoy them at home.

Lane County Fair 2026: Concerts, Deals & a West Eugene Game Plan
July 22-26 at Lane Events Center: the full concert lineup, the admission deals nobody reads about, and how West Eugene locals plan fair week.
Fair week is officially here. From July 22–26, the Lane County Fair takes over the Lane Events Center at 796 W 13th Ave — about two miles from our counter, close enough that we can practically hear the carnival from the parking lot. Five days of rides, livestock barns, elephant ears, a five-night concert run, and (new this year) bull riding on opening night.
We put together the guide we give customers over the counter every July: what it costs, which deals actually save you money, the full concert lineup, and how West Eugene locals plan the day around it.
Lane County Fair 2026 — Fast Facts
Hours: 11 AM – 11 PM Wednesday through Saturday · 11 AM – 8 PM Sunday. Gates stop selling admission an hour before close.
Admission: Adults (13–64) $10 · Youth 6–12, seniors 65+, military & first responders $7 · Kids 5 and under free. A clear bag policy is in effect at the gates — pack light.
The 2026 Concert Lineup
Every concert ticket includes fair admission, and if you're not picky about sightlines, you can catch any show for free from the standing-room area outside the venue with regular fair admission. GA bleacher seats run $16 for most nights.
The Deals Worth Knowing
Season Pass ($24) pays for itself in three visits, and the 3-Day Pass ($20) in two. Beyond that, the daily deals do the heavy lifting: Thursday is Family Day with $4 admission for seniors, military and first responders; Wednesday is Grange Day, where kids 10 and under get in free from 11 AM to 1 PM by bringing a dressed-up fruit or vegetable (yes, really — costume a zucchini, save $7); and Sunday admission is free from 11 AM to 3 PM with a donation of three non-perishable food items per person for Food For Lane County.
Riding the rides? Unlimited ride bracelets are $54.95 online only through midnight July 21 — they are not sold on site, so if you wait, you're stuck buying ticket packs at the fair (40 tickets for $50, at 5–7 tickets a ride). If you're reading this before the 21st, that's your move.
A West Eugene Game Plan
The fairgrounds sit in our corner of town, and fair week traffic on 13th and Jefferson is real — especially Saturday and during Sunday's free-admission window, when gates go entry-only from 11 to 3. Locals go early on Thursday or Friday: shorter ride lines, cooler pavement, same corn dogs.
One more local note: the fair is a cash-heavy week — between ride tickets, food carts and games, small bills disappear fast. If your fair-week plans include a stop at our shop at 607 Hwy 99 N (about five minutes from the fairgrounds), your card works fine here: we take Visa and Mastercard with no fees, so you can save the cash for the elephant ears.
Before or After the Fair — The 21+ Stop
We're open 9 AM to 9 PM all five fair days. We've run our shop on Hwy 99 since 2014, which means we've watched twelve Julys of Fair traffic roll west out of Eugene — tie-dye, dusty sandals, and a line of cars on 126 that tells you the weekend has arrived. The Oregon Country Fair returns July 10–12, 2026, and every year the same questions come across our counter: when is it, how do I get there, and what are the actual rules about cannabis? Here's the local answer to all three.
When and where is the Oregon Country Fair 2026?
The Fair runs Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12, 2026, on its wooded site along the Long Tom River outside Veneta — about 13 miles west of Eugene on Hwy 126. Expect 17 stages running morning to night, more than 300 artisan booths, and the food rows that regulars plan their whole day around.

Getting there from Eugene
One road matters: Hwy 126 west. From West Eugene it's a 20-minute drive on a normal day and noticeably longer on Fair mornings, so locals leave early or aim for mid-afternoon once the first wave is inside. Carpool if you can — parking is managed and fills up — and check the Fair's site for this year's parking and shuttle details before you commit to driving.
Camping close to the action? The City of Veneta runs Zumwalt Campground right in town, and it books out for Fair weekend. However you set up camp, sort out your ride home before the day starts, not after.
Can you bring cannabis to the Oregon Country Fair?
Short answer: no. The Fair is a family event — cannabis isn't sold there and isn't permitted for use on site. And under Oregon law, consuming cannabis in public is illegal everywhere in the state, which includes fairgrounds, parking areas, and campgrounds.
What the law does allow: adults 21 and over can possess up to two ounces of usable cannabis in public and enjoy it on private property with the owner's permission. Three rules we repeat at the counter every July: keep products sealed and stowed in the trunk while you drive, never consume in a vehicle, and never drive high — line up a sober driver the same way you would for beer. And one Oregon-specific note for mid-July: it's fire season. Nobody smokes anything around dry grass, full stop.
Plan it like a local: stock up before Fair weekend
Veneta-bound folks tend to swing through Thursday or Friday morning, and the calendar works in your favor this year. Thursday, July 9 is our 20% off full-price ounces day, and Friday, July 10 is Bulk Flower Friday — which happens to make Fair Friday and 7/10 the same day this year, a nice coincidence for the concentrates crowd.
What actually sells before the Fair, from twelve years of watching it: hand-rolled pre-rolls — singles from $3, rolled in-house, easy to share back at camp — and low-dose edibles for the evening wind-down on private property. If you're going the edible route, start at 5 mg and give it time; Fair days are long and hot, and doubling down early is the classic rookie mistake.
From our counter: "Every year somebody buys the big jar Friday morning and asks if they can bring it in. You can't. Stash it at camp, enjoy the Fair, and it'll be there when you get back." Hydrate, wear the hat, and pace yourself — same advice for the sun as for the gummies.

The Gateway Show: Cannabis Comedy at Whirled Pies in Eugene

The Gateway Show at Whirled Pies
If you've never been to a comedy show built around a cannabis-themed format, the Gateway Show at Whirled Pies is the easiest way to fix that. It runs every few weeks in downtown Eugene, the format is dialed in after a decade on the road, and the comedians are doing actual stand-up. The first half is regular comedy. The second half is a different energy. The room is part of the show.
Here's what to know if you're thinking about going.
What the Gateway Show actually is
Comedian Billy Anderson started the Gateway Show in Seattle in 2015, shortly after Washington legalized recreational cannabis. He was a touring stand-up comic looking for a fresh angle, and the format he landed on turned out to be more interesting than the weed-show format anyone else was running.
Anderson's stated rule: laughing with the comics, not at them. The show isn't about watching anyone fail. It's about working comedians letting their guard down between sets and finding unscripted moments they couldn't have planned. The first half is structured material. The second half is looser — riffs, callbacks, real-time bits.
The show now tours Oregon, Washington, California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Montana. The Eugene shows at Whirled Pies are part of a regular Pacific Northwest rotation. Mike Masilotti, a comedian who's been touring with Anderson since 2018 and has hosted dozens of Gateway Shows across the country, is the recurring host for the Eugene stop.

The Gateway Show runs at Whirled Pies on a recurring basis — typically every four to six weeks, almost always on a Friday or Saturday. It's not strictly monthly: some months get skipped depending on Billy and Mike's tour routing. Whirled Pies, the venue
If you haven't been, Whirled Pies took over the old Cozmic space at 199 W 8th Ave in downtown Eugene. The room is a sprawling, sculpture-filled former car dealership with a 200+ capacity and state-of-the-art lights and sound. The venue books seven nights of live music a week and runs cultural programming year-round: jazz jams, Garcia Birthday Band shows, Grateful To The Core, Eugene Deadhead Trivia (last Monday of every month, free), local rock bands, comedy. If the Gateway Show schedule doesn't line up with a night you're free, there's almost always something else worth showing up for at this venue.
Whirled Pies is two blocks from the bus station and a short walk from most of downtown. There's pay parking nearby and free parking after 6 PM at the Parcade (35 W 8th Ave) for some shows.

What changed in 2026
The federal government moved cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III in early 2026 — a major policy shift we covered in detail in our breakdown of Oregon's medical cannabis program after Schedule III. The short version: federal law caught up to what Oregon has known since 1998, when voters legalized medical cannabis through OMMP.
Federal rescheduling does not replace your OMMP card. Oregon's Medical Marijuana Program is a state-administered system with patient protections, possession limits, and pricing benefits that exist independently of federal scheduling. If you currently hold an OMMP card, it remains valid. If you're considering applying, the benefits are still real.
Why an OMMP card is still worth it
Oregon has had recreational cannabis for over a decade. So why pay for a card when adult-use is right there? Five reasons people we serve at Green Health still choose the medical route:
Higher possession limits

Qualifying conditions in Oregon
To qualify for an OMMP card, you need to be diagnosed with a "debilitating medical condition" recognized by the Oregon Health Authority. The list includes:
- Cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, severe pain, severe nausea, seizures, persistent muscle spasms (including from MS), cachexia, Alzheimer's, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Other conditions a licensed physician believes will benefit from medical cannabis
Conditions like multiple sclerosis (we cover this in detail in Cannabis and Multiple Sclerosis) and chronic pain are among the most common qualifying diagnoses we see in our patient population. Cancer-adjacent treatment with RSO is another long-standing OMMP use case.

How to apply
- Get your medical records. Request records from your primary care physician documenting your qualifying condition. The clinic doctor needs to see this before signing the Attending Physician's Statement.
- Book a clinic appointment. Use any of the verified providers above. Telehealth is fastest if you can't get to a Eugene office.
- The doctor visit. A licensed Oregon MD, DO, ND, or NP reviews your records and your condition. If you qualify, they sign the Attending Physician's Statement.
- Submit the state application. Either you or the clinic submits to the Oregon Health Authority via the OMMP online registry. Pay the state fee at this point.

Cannabis Schedule III & Oregon Medical Customers
The DEA's April 22, 2026 final order moved certain marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III — the first time since 1970 that the federal government has officially acknowledged cannabis has accepted medical use.
Depending on which headline you read, cannabis is "now legal," "federally reclassified," or "still illegal." All three are partly true — which is why the details matter, especially if you're an OMMP cardholder or a medical-focused customer.
We've served both medical cardholders and adult-use customers from our shop on Highway 99 since 2014. That puts us in an unusual position to explain what this order actually does — because it affects one part of our business more than the other, and the lines are blurrier than the national coverage suggests.
What actually moved to Schedule III on April 22
Two categories of marijuana moved from Schedule I to Schedule III:
FDA-Approved Drugs
FDA-approved drug products containing marijuana — for example, Epidiolex.
State-Licensed Medical
Marijuana subject to a state-issued license to manufacture, distribute, or dispense for medical purposes only.
Schedule III is a major downgrade from Schedule I. It puts cannabis in the same category as ketamine, Tylenol with codeine, and testosterone — drugs the federal government recognizes as having accepted medical use. Schedule I, by contrast, lumped cannabis with heroin and LSD.
What did not change
This is where most national coverage glosses over the details. The following remain firmly in Schedule I:
- Recreational (adult-use) marijuana — even when sold legally under a state program like Oregon's OLCC-regulated market
- Bulk marijuana, marijuana extract, and Delta-9 material used as raw inputs to make FDA-approved products
- Synthetically derived THC
- Any unlicensed cannabis activity
The dual-license question for Oregon shops
Oregon's retail cannabis landscape is mostly dual-licensed. Shops like ours hold an OLCC adult-use license and an OMMP designation to serve medical cardholders. That means on any given day we're legally operating under both programs at the same counter.
Cannabis attorneys are actively parsing this right now, and we expect guidance to evolve over the coming weeks. If you're an OMMP cardholder, the practical day-to-day hasn't changed — your card still gets you access, higher possession limits, and tax benefits at Oregon shops. What this means if you have a medical card
This is the most significant federal shift in your lifetime as a cardholder. Four practical takeaways:
Federal Recognition
The federal government's 55-year position that cannabis has no accepted medical use is no longer the official stance.
Research Expands
Schedule III substances can be studied with far less friction. Expect meaningful growth in medical cannabis clinical research.
Oregon Rights Unchanged
OMMP card benefits, purchasing limits, and tax exemptions on medical purchases continue exactly as before.

What this means if you don't have a card
If you're shopping without an OMMP card under Oregon's recreational program, almost nothing changes day-to-day:
- OLCC rules, purchasing limits, testing, and product categories are unchanged. Our OLCC purchasing limits guide covers the rec side in detail.
- Federal restrictions on banking and payment processing still apply. That's part of why we're the only Eugene shop taking Visa and Mastercard with no fees — we solved the payment problem independent of federal scheduling.
- Oregon farms, processors, shelves, and prices in the rec market are unaffected by this specific order.
The 280E tax wrinkle
Section 280E of the IRS tax code has been the albatross of state-legal cannabis businesses since the 1980s. It says if you're "trafficking" in a Schedule I or II controlled substance, you can't deduct ordinary business expenses — rent, wages, marketing, utilities — from your federal taxable income.
With the April 22 order, state-licensed medical cannabis operators can deduct those expenses like any other business. For dual-licensed Oregon operators, how 280E applies to the medical versus adult-use portions of a business is part of the gray area that will get resolved in the coming months. For pure adult-use sales, 280E still applies today.
If the broader rescheduling moves forward at the June 29 hearing, the math for the entire legal cannabis industry changes — and that's where real downstream pricing impact for customers becomes possible.
The bigger domino is still to fall
Buried in the same order that took effect on April 22 is an announcement of an expedited DEA hearing commencing June 29, 2026, to consider whether marijuana as a whole — not just FDA-approved drugs and state-licensed medical programs — should move to Schedule III.
That's the question that would change the picture for Oregon's recreational market, every dispensary, and every farm, processor, and brand in the state. A broader rescheduling could mean:
- Every state-legal cannabis operator (rec or medical) out from under 280E
- A clearer path to interstate commerce, research funding, and eventually federal banking
- Oregon farms — operating in a closed state market — looking at a much bigger customer base long-term
There's no guarantee the June hearing produces that outcome. Rescheduling proceedings can stall, reverse, or land on a narrower rule than expected. But if you want to understand where this is actually going, June 29 is the date to watch.
Not for adult-use purchases. For FDA-approved products and state medical programs — yes, the federal government just acknowledged cannabis has accepted medical use and isn't the same category as heroin. If you have an OMMP card, that shift matters more for you than most people realize. The next domino, if there is one, falls at the end of June.

The June 29, 2026 DEA hearing will consider broader rescheduling.
Not for Oregon adult-use customers in the short term. The rescheduling's biggest financial impact is the end of Section 280E tax disallowance, which applies to state-licensed medical operators under this order. For dual-licensed Oregon shops, the practical tax picture for the medical portion of the business is still being worked out. Broader price relief would likely require the broader rescheduling considered at the June 29 hearing.

We've been at 607 Hwy 99 N since 2014, and marathon weekend is one of our favorite weekends of the year. This is the local guide we wish every out-of-town runner and support crew had — cannabis recovery products our team actually recommends, plus what to do in Eugene when you're not running 26.2.
The 2026 Eugene Marathon starts at 7:00 AM on Agate Street in the shadow of Hayward Field, and finishes on the Hayward Field track itself — the same track as the World Championships. The half marathon starts at the same 7:00 AM gun time. From the finish line, we're a straight shot west on 6th Ave to Highway 99 N, about 7 minutes by car. If you're flying in, we're also 7 minutes from Eugene Airport (EUG), so we're often the first or last stop of the trip.

Dedicated pedestrian/cyclist bridge over the Willamette — a mid-course crossing point. Quieter vantage, limited parking nearby. Walk or bike in.

Shaded paths the course passes later in the race. Easy for families to move between vantage points, and no traffic-control headaches getting in.

Race-Day Game Plan (For the Runner)
A few things we've learned from 12 years of chatting with runners who come in after crossing the finish line:
The night before
Don't experiment. If you've never had a tincture, the night before a goal race is not the night to try one. Test recovery products the week before, not race week. Race morning

Who Is Shadowgrass?
Shadowgrass started the way the best bands do: friends picking together at a fiddlers' convention in rural Virginia.
